A cast lead or lead alloy spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval date (1 - 1650 AD), most probably later medieval (1150-1600AD). The spindle whorl is broadly circular in plan and rectangular / flat in cross section. The central hole is circular and has been cast / set off centre; it has an internal diameter of 7.5mm. There is no evidence of cast or incised designs present. The spindle whorl is a cream - white colour with an abraded and broken patina. A lead alloy shot / ball, of probable post medieval or early modern date (1600-1800 AD). It is difficult to identify the weapon used to fire this projectile as it has been flattened due to hitting something hard when fired (splat). The ball is a mid-grey - colour. Similar shot has been dated to the later post medieval period however the date range should extend into the early modern period as similar projectiles were used in firearms throughout this period. Cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable medieval date (1200-1500 AD). The weight is broadly circular in plan and regular in cross section. Both faces are heavily abraded and corroded but were relatively flat and are undecorated. The weight is a mid greenish grey colour with an uneven patina which covers all surfaces. This weight is most likely to date from the later medieval period, although a direct parallel has not been found. The weight measures 36.3mm in diameter and is 7.9mm thick. The sides are faceted making the front face seem domed. The weight is a mid-grey colour with an even, but slightly corroded and abraded patina which covers all surfaces. Cast lead or lead alloy 'steelyard' weight of probable Medieval (1200-1500 ) date. The weight is sub-cylindrical - rod like with an oval section. One terminal is flattened and pierced with an oval suspension hole: diameter 6.0mm. There is no evidence of cast or applied decoration. The weight is a mid-grey cream colour with a relatively even, but slightly corroded and abraded, patina that covers all surfaces. Cast lead token of later medieval or post-medieval date (1450-1800). The token is broadly circular in plan and slight distorted through bending. The upper face is decorated with a cast design of a stylised bird standing with its feet on the base of the flan. The bird is relatively crude with slight beak, wing case and also feet depicted, from the style of the feet it is possible that the bird is a raven or crow. The reverse is decorated with the initials T D within a small circular border. The token measures 31.9mm diameter is 3.7mm thick, and weighs 14.79 grams.

A complete post-Medieval lead alloy circular double-sided token (c. 1500-c. 1850). Powell Type 10. The token has raised bust facing right on one side. The other side may have a dsign but it is worn and unclear. Each side has a raised rim. This token is brownish buff. Diameter: 20.3mm. Weight: 7.58g. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely.
