Copper alloy buckle. Cast single looped buckle frame with bowed sides and an expanded bevelled outer edge with grooves at its ends and, as a triple arrangement, marking a central pin rest; the strap bar is narrowed and offset, and there are small ridges at each outer corner of the frame. A slotted rectangular plate of thickness 0.4mm is wrapped around the frame, and a rivet hole of diameter 1mm on the display side marks where plate was attached to strap; a rivet of diameter 1.2mm and length 2.7mm remains in the back part of the plate. The weight broadly square shaped in plan and pyramidal in profile with eight irregularly shaped triangular faces rising to a blunt top. The base is relatively flat and even. The weight is undecorated. A drilled transverse hole (diameter: 2.9mm) is present on the upper edge of the weight. An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end dating to the late Early-Medieval period, c. 950-1100. This strap-end is of unusual form, being closest in appearance to Thomas' type E3; 'Tongue shaped strap ends with a central rib'. A cast copper alloy object of uncertain date, possibly a pommel for a dagger or sword, or a finial for a staff. The object is in the form of an elongated bulb, a truncated tear - shape, hollowed by a bored, off -centre hole 8.5 mm diameter at one end, reducing to 3.8 mm at the other.
