Silver coin. Short cross cut halfpenny of John (1199-1216), possibly class 5b2 issue of 1205-1207. According to Wren (2006) and this reporter's reading, the moneyer could only be Clement [class I at Winchester], but the other features of the coin suggest a later issue than his. Possibly London mint. Obverse description: Facing bust with sceptre left, hair probably of two neat curls to either side.
