With just over half of the coin remaining the obverse has an extremely faint facing crowned bust with the partial legend NGL (at approx 10 o'clock) The reverse has a long cross, one arm of which has a crozier end, with three pellets in each quarter.

A fragment of an early early-medieval gilded copper alloy brooch or mount, dating to c. 500-650. Of probably original circular form, all that remains of the object is a central boss and part of the external edge. There is no trace of a fixing mechanism to the reverse, which has a rough surface but is otherwise flat. All breaks are old.

A fragment of a Roman cast copper alloy brooch, probably Hod Hill type, dating to 1st century AD. The item consists of the upper part of the bow . It is 24.50mm in length, 8.61mm in width and weighs 1.85g.

Description: The purse bar is incomplete, with the arms terminating in breaks. The central block is rounded and has a vertical hole to accommodate the shank of the suspension loop. The inner surface is pale cream/grey in colour, the outer surface a little darker and mottled with black. A fragment of a late Bronze Age socketed axe dating to perhaps c. BC 1000 - 800. It consists of the side loop, a small section of the axe itself and a short section of the collar of the socket. A casting ridge is visible over the collar and along the length of the loop.
It is 33.22mm in length (from the top of the collar to the lower end of the loop, at which point the rest of the axe has broken away) and 26.58mm in width (two broken edges either side of the loop).The loop itself is 18.82mm in length, 6.55mm in width, with an oval opening (6.36mm x 4.04mm). It weighs 20.97g.

An incomplete post-medieval cast copper alloy rowel spur dating probably to c.AD 1600 - 1700. It s quite a small spur, havng a span of c 65mm. One heel band has broken off about halfway along its length, the other is intact wth a figure of eight terminal (for attachment to leathers) extant. The rowel neck is 10mm in length but the separate double lug frame, lying at an angle to the neck, and which would have held the rowel itself, appears to have broken, perhaps at the point where the rowel was attached.

An incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval cast lead alloy circular unifaced token (AD1250-1850 ). Powell type 30.The token has a design of numerus randomly spaced raised pellets on the obverse and a flat, undecorated reverse.
The token measures 18mm in diameter, 1.8mm thick and weighs 1.93 grams.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely and could be Medieval or Post Medieval in date (1250-1850 AD).

A complete copper alloy post medieval horse harness pendant, dating from 1500-1800 AD.
The pendant is in the shape of a ten pointed star, with grooves in between each point. The cross section of each point in rounded, with the edges originally bevelled. The attachment loop is rectangular in cross section, projecting from between two of the points. It then narrows slightly into a two circular sections which sit at ninety degrees from the pendant. A complete cast lead alloy circular uniface token, probably dating to Post Medieval period (AD.1550-1800 ): Class Powell Type 2. One side the token has the raised initials H with a raised pellet on the cross bar. The other side is undecorated and flat.
It measures 19.6mm in diameter 1.7mm thick, and weighs 3.36 grams.
Lead tokens had a wide variety of uses and were made locally; they are therefore hard to date precisely. Those with initials are generally thought to be Post Medieval in date, AD1550-1800.

A complete cast copper-alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 1-200 AD. It consists of a crescentic sub-circular sectioned rod with one end pointed and the other demonstrating an integrally cast end-loop. Preserved in fair condition with a pitted greenish patina, it measures 55.91mm long, 5.98mm thick at its midpoint, and 11.67mm in external diameter at the end-loop. It weighs 8.52g.

An incomplete cast copper alloy La Tene I type brooch dating to the Iron Age. The item consists of the bow of the brooch but the pin, spring mechanism and most of the curled foot are missing, although the stub of the catchplate is extant. The bow is a pointed oval in form, flat in section. A low wide ridge echoes the shape of the bow, creating a margin, within which is another, concentric, thinner ridge, and in the centre is a single longitudinal ridge.
It is very simiar to the example in Hattatt 2007 p288 fig 147 no 1447A.
It is 34.29mm in length, 7.53mm in width and weighs 1.31g.

An incomplete copper alloy late Medieval to Post Medieval buckle frame dating to the period cAD1450 - 1600. Only one loop of the double loop oval buckle remains. It has a serrated outer edge, and a sheet copper alloy pin wrapped around the bar. Only small sections of the other loop survive, with worn breaks. The buckle measures 12.3mm in length, 14.8mm in width and is 1.0mm thick; it weighs 0.83g including the pin.
A similar example can be found in Whitehead (2003:60), no. 356 which he dates to AD 1450-1600.

A fragment of a Roman cast copper alloy Hod Hill brooch, dating to 1st century AD. The item consists of most of the bow with damaged catchplate, the upper bow, wings and pin are missing. It is 38.60mm in length, 6.93mm in width and weighs 2.38g.
The bow is a flattish D in section, the upper part, of which c 10.40mm remains below an early break, being decorated with parallel longitudinal rdges either side of the centre. A complete medieval cast copper alloy single loop buckle with incomplete folded sheet plate, dating to c AD1250 - 1400.
The buckle has an oval frame with expanded outer edge which is decorated on its upper face with angular knops at each outer edge, inside of which are ridges with a groove for the pin in the centre. The underside of the hoop is flat, rectangular in section overall. A rectangular section pin is in place, folded around the pin bar and through a sub circular piercing in the remains of th buckle plate. The pin bar is slightly narrowed.
