An incomplete medieval silver penny, probably, of Edward III (r,1327-77) from the Durham mint. With just over half of the coin remaining the obverse has an extremely faint facing crowned bust with the partial legend NGL (at approx 10 o'clock) The reverse has a long cross, one arm of which has a crozier end, with three pellets in each quarter.
