Early post-medieval cast copper alloy dress fastener (the loop or eye section of a two-part clasp), similar to Class A as defined by Read (2008, 164). The object is oval with two rectangular projections on either side.There are three rounded attachment knops - one at the end of the oval, and two either side of the rectangular 'eye' which is broken.The central oval has relief moulded decoration, which appears to be a cherub face with scrolls either side.The reverse of the object is undecorated. Length: 35.3mm; width: 21.3mm; thickness: 1.4mm; weight: 4.4g
