A fragment of a Brooch of Roman date (AD 43-410). The retained portion is the lower bow and catchplate. The bow is D shaped in section and slightly tapering rectangular in plan. The bow has two circumferential transverse incised lines above the foot. The catchplate is sub-triangular and recurved.
The metal is a mid-green in colour with a slightly pitted patina.
