A copper-alloy strap-end dating from the Early-Medieval period, dated to 750 - 950 AD. The object is tapered from the attachment end to the closed terminal and has curved sides. The attachment end is split and has two fixing holes (of slightly different sizes). The face of the object is decorated in Saxon (Trewhiddle) style. Below the holes is a stylised palmette design, in relief. Below this is a central panel decorated in relief with a non-symmetrical figure, possibly of a Trewhiddle-style animal design.
