A probable complete lead shot of post-medieval date (AD 1600-1700). Description: A cylindrical, cast lead plug, flat at either end with straight sides. There is no evidence of impact damage. Measurements: Length: 17.6mm, Diameter: 17.21mm, Weight: 36.38gms Discussion: This was probably a supplementary load to improve the 'stopping power' of a round. The use of variant forms of shot was especially characteristic of 17th-century practice.
