A probably post medieval cast copper alloy harness mount. A cross consisting of four lozenge shaped arms on a central square. Each arm has drilled fixing points with iron rivets remaining in two of the arms.

An incomplete cast copper alloy 'hooked tag' type clothing fastener dating to the 16th / 17th century. The securing loop is now broken off from the main body that is circular in plan with an openwork design of six apertures around a central one. The 12mm shaft has a moulded collar adjacent to the central portion and is now missing it's tip. The reverse is plain and flat.

A lead ampulla with both lugs complete. On one face there is a scallop shell of Spencer 1971, Type II. On the other, below two transverse lines, a crowned W, probably for Walsingham, but may also signify Virgo Virginum (Virgin of Virgins). The crown is for Mary, queen of Heaven. The ampulla has a number of tranverse cracks on each face in the upper portion but is otherwise complete. A copper-alloy strap-end dating from the Early-Medieval period, dated to 750 - 950 AD. The object is tapered from the attachment end to the closed terminal and has curved sides. The attachment end is split and has two fixing holes (of slightly different sizes). The face of the object is decorated in Saxon (Trewhiddle) style. Below the holes is a stylised palmette design, in relief. Below this is a central panel decorated in relief with a non-symmetrical figure, possibly of a Trewhiddle-style animal design. A probable complete lead shot of post-medieval date (AD 1600-1700). Description: A cylindrical, cast lead plug, flat at either end with straight sides. There is no evidence of impact damage. Measurements: Length: 17.6mm, Diameter: 17.21mm, Weight: 36.38gms Discussion: This was probably a supplementary load to improve the 'stopping power' of a round. The use of variant forms of shot was especially characteristic of 17th-century practice.
