Broken Medieval long cross penny of Edward I. The coin has been deliberately bent along the line of the long cross and has either failed in the process, or in post deposition corrosion and trauma. London Mint. Other than a trifoliate side fleur to the crown insufficient further detail survives for the class to be established. Given the precision of the bend it is likely the coin was used to make a wish or prayer according to the 'English Custom'. Circa AD1279-1301.
