An incomplete cast copper-alloy fragment originating from a Roman brooch of probable Colchester Derivative hinged type, dating c. 43-100 AD. Only the catchplate, lower bow and foot survive, the rest of the brooch missing in an old break. It demonstrates a longitudinal groove down the midpoint of the bow, which itself terminates in a small knopped foot. Preserved in fair condition with an even greenish patina, it survives to a length of 24.59mm, 12.95mm thick between the catchplate and bow, and weighs 1.98g. An incomplete, cast, copper alloy, Roman Rosette brooch of the first century AD. The remains consist of the empty spring box, the bow arch and most of the oval bow plate below the arch that extends from the spring box to the tail of the bow, of which only a small stump remains. The plate is decorated with concentric circular ribs, and the arch has a worn decorative longitudinal ridge. A complete gold object of uncertain date, but possibly Iron Age or early Roman. It consists a length of thick gold wire (now rather twisted and distorted) of circular section with a knopped globular terminal at each end. Identification is uncertain, although it is likely to be an item of personal adornment such as a bracelet. The original length/diameter of the object is uncertain due to heavy distortion but has been estimated at 130mm; the terminals are c. 2.66mm in diameter and the midpoint of the wire 1.42mm thick. An early Roman copper alloy hinged dolphin brooch. The wings are cylindrical in section and contain an axis bar for a hinged pin. The copper alloy pin is present. Both wings are decorated at their tip with a vertical rope-line moulding; a further moulding runs diagonally across the face of both wings. The bow is comma shaped in profile and oval in section, and has a moulded crest at the top running down the centre. A row of lozenge-shaped cells run down the centre of the lower bow; these are very worn. The brooch has a catchplate. The brooch has a reddish-brown patina.

Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative hinged brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type CD H 3.d dating to the period c. AD 50 - 150. The cylindrical wings are partly moulded with bead and reel at each tip. They house the copper alloy axis bar for the hinged pin whcih remains, housed in the central pin slot. The bow tapers from the head to foot and exhibits a pair of moulded ridges running down the centre. See: Mackreth, D.F, 2011, Vol. I, p. 85.

A Roman enamelled copper alloy domed boss or umbonate brooch. The brooch is circular, domed, and has a surface decorated with two bands of inward pointing triangular cells.
