A small, cast copper-alloy annular brooch with zoomorphic decoration of medieval date (c. 12th century AD). It shows two creatures of equal length biting each others' tails. The frame has a broadly circular cross section. The circumference is rounded, whilst the internal side is bevelled above and below; both outer surfaces are flat. Located centrally between the moulded heads is a pin constriction. A basic flat, wire pin survives in situ slightly bent with an abraded tip. A complete copper-alloy Dolphin Brooch of Roman date (AD 43-100). The object is a hinged, Colchester- derivative type. The object pin and axis bar are are formed from circular sectioned wire and are set within the hollow circular wings. From the wings the bow projects in a D shape and tapers in toward a semi-circular foot. The bow is decorated with a raised central rib running longitudinally with repeating incised transverse lines. Roman copper alloy trumpet style bow brooch, 42mm in length, 12mm wide and 3mm thick with a weight of 9.57grams. The brooch has an oval headplate which is now missing its spring and pin. The bow emerges from this and is plain except for a stylised, angular acanthus scroll at its shoulder. The remainder of the bow is D shaped in cross section and terminates with a stepped foot which has a tri-lobed motif decorating it. The reverse houses an intact triangular catchplate.

A copper alloy Roman brooch of the trumpet type, dating from about AD 75 - 175. It has a small trumpet shaped head hiding a lug to hold the spring and pin which are now missing. The acanthus button extends right round the bow. It has a triple collar above and below. The lower bow is faceted and there is a discoidal foot. The catchplate is almost complete. The brooch is 39.5mm long, 11.4mm wide and 17.2mm thick. It weighs 5.47gm.

An incomplete copper alloy Anglo-Saxon square-headed brooch dating to the period AD 475-570. Consists of part of the square head and arched neck. The head of the brooch is decorated in Style I with possibly animal/human features amoung swirling lines. The neck consists of two valleys in between three ridges. The centre ridge is larger than the other two. There is gold inlay on the exterior surface. A fragment of a cast, copper alloy Roman brooch of the dragonesque type, dating from AD 75-175. It can be classified as Mackreth Dragonesque type 2 (no enamel). The fragment consists of the central body of the brooch, with both terminals missing. It is decorated with a central circular domed boss surrounded by a grooved ring. An incomplete, copper alloy, late Iron Age to early Roman bow brooch, of the Colchester type. Spring, pin and catch plate missing, as is the tip of the bow. Simple spring hook intact, either side of which are two, short flattened wings. The bow is oval in cross-section and has along its outside length a narrow decorative groove, infilled with a cheveron pattern. Length 51.2 mm., Width 15.7 mm. Thickness 3.1 mm, Weight 7.22 g. ref.
