A complete copper-alloy Dolphin Brooch of Roman date (AD 43-100). The object is a hinged, Colchester- derivative type. The object pin and axis bar are are formed from circular sectioned wire and are set within the hollow circular wings. From the wings the bow projects in a D shape and tapers in toward a semi-circular foot. The bow is decorated with a raised central rib running longitudinally with repeating incised transverse lines.
