Obverse: [E D G] ROSA [SINE SP]INA (A rose without thorns); Crowned bust facing left with two pellets behind.
Reverse: CIVI/TAS/LON/DO[N]; Square shield on long cross fourchée dividing the inscription.

Reverse, long cross fourchee over royal shield with only part of date remaining 1, [POSVI DEV AD] IVTOR[EM MEV']
The coin measures 22.3mm diameter, 11.5mm wide and 1.1mm thick. It weighs 1 gram.

A silver, Post Medieval coin, probably a penny of Elizabeth I, AD.1558-1603. Most of the detail has gone on the obverse. The reverse has a square shield on long cross fourchee. The coin is pierced above the shield by a single small circular hole, its relationship to the obverse design is uncertain.
