A complete lead-alloy Medieval spindle whorl, dating to the medieval period (circa AD 1100-1500). The whorl is comprised of a bi-conical body. Both faces of the whorl are characterised by moulded decoration. On one side are a series of raised lines radiating out from the central perforation. Three pellets then protrude from each compartment. The other side also shows radiating lines. Each compartment contains one pellet set above a diagonal line filling the compartment.
