An incomplete post medieval copper-alloy flat clothing fastener with foliate decoration dating to c.1550-1700. This is an eye section with its broken rectangular attachment end into which a blunt hook would fit, consisting of a sub oval plate which has three attachment drilled knops. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with engraved and punched lines, circles and curves, mainly forming a spray of flowers. The field is bordered with small annulet punches. Post Medieval copper alloy buckle frame datng to cAD 1500 - 1700. The double looped rectangular buckle is plain and the pin is missing. The buckle has a green patina.The frame is 33.3mm long, 21.8mm wide and weighs 3.86g. An example can be found in Whitehead (2003:75) no. 464 which he dates to the late 16th to 17th centuries.
