Late Iron Age-Roman brooch, probably a Langton Down type: The copper alloy brooch is incomplete; it has cylindrical wings, although this is incomplete. The pin, spring and axis bar are missing, although there appears to be a stud which is circular sectioned and tapers to a blunt point, protruding from the interior of the wings. The function of the stud is not certain. The wings contain some iron corrosion. An incomplete cast copper-alloy spur buckle with integral plate dating to the Medieval period, c. 1250-1400. Only the integral plate survives, with the buckle loop and pin missing in old damage. At the front edge of the plate are two rounded knops which consist the very back edge of the frame, with a small circular aperture (for a now missing rivet) at their midpoint. An incomplete medieval cast copper alloy buckle plate, being one half of a folded metal plate, dating to c AD1250 - 1500. It is rectangular in form, recessed, with the stubs of the tabs which held the strap bar of the buckle having broken at the fold. There are five rivet holes, one in each corner and one in the centre and there is an engraved linear border. It is 27.78mm in length (including the projecting tabs) and 27.04mm in width. It is 1.28mm thick and weighs 4g. See Whitehead p23 no103 for a very similar buckle plate.

A modern copper alloy strap slide. The slide comprises a copper alloy plate with a separate copper alloy bar on the reverse, joined together by two iron pins. The plate is in the form of a buckle with integral central bar. The frame is double oval and decorated with moulded floral or foliage elements. A rectangular bar with right angled terminals is set on the reverse. This item is modern, but is recorded here because the reverse bars are often found on their own and are sometimes misidentified as being of earlier origin.
