A complete but damaged lead-alloy token dating to the Post-Medieval period. This type of token is known as 'Lyon counter', and dates to the period c. AD 1575-1589. The obverse of the token depicts a crowned lion facing left, rampant, within a circular border in the form of a belt or garter. The legend set within the circular border (now largely illegible) would have originally read; 'HONI SOI QUI MAL Y PE', the motto of the order of the garter. A complete lead alloy medieval papal bulla, issued by Pope Martin V (AD 1417 to AD 1431), dating to the period AD 1417 to AD 1431. The obverse depicts the faces of St Paul and St Peter within beaded borders and below the inscription SPA SPE (SPA = Sanctus Paulus, SPE = Sanctus Petrus), all of which are encased by a beaded border around the outside edge of the bulla. Some of the beaded border is missing. The reverse bears the legend "MAR / TINVS / PP •V•" within a beaded border. 'PP', is an abbreviation of Pastor Pastorum - meaning shepherd of the shepherds. Cast lead-alloy spindle whorl, dating from the medieval period (AD1200-1500). The whorl is made up of a central biconical body decorated with a zig-zag line. This is attached, at the 4 cardinal points, to an outer "ring that has "rope" like decoration. This ring is 2.6mm thick and only survives on half of the whorl. The central perforation has an internal diameter of 8.4mm.
