A silver Roman denarius of Diva Faustina (AD 138-161), dating to the period AD 141-161 (Reece period 7). CONSECRATIO reverse type depicting a Peacock walking right head turned left. Mint of Rome. As RIC III, p. 73, no. 384. The crescentic shadow across the reverse suggests this coin was originally deposited with at least one other and is probably part of a hoard.

A complete medieval cast copper alloy rectangular horse harness pendants, dating to the 14th century AD. It is 42.48mm in length (including the suspension loop), 31.30mm in width and 1.38mm thick. The loop is offset at ninety degrees to the face of the pendant, canted slightly forward. There is gilding evident in a number of areas on the face and the main decoration is of three longitudinal rows of rope-like pattern alhough this is very worn and there may be other features which are obscured. The reverse appears to have no decoration. It weighs 7.44g.

A complete medieval cast copper-alloy bar mount, dating to AD 1350-1400. This is a bar mount with terminal lobes or lugs and a plano-convex central lobe or boss which is decorated with raised transverse ridges. There are rivets through holes in each lug, both of which retain the rivet, and there is a circular piercing in the cntre of the central lobe. The bar mount is 19.94mm in length, 9.40mm in width and weighs 1.99g. Similar bar mounts to this can be seen in Read's Metal Artefacts of Antiquity (2001) nos.149-156.

A complete but damaged lead-alloy token dating to the Post-Medieval period. This type of token is known as 'Lyon counter', and dates to the period c. AD 1575-1589. The obverse of the token depicts a crowned lion facing left, rampant, within a circular border in the form of a belt or garter. The legend set within the circular border (now largely illegible) would have originally read; 'HONI SOI QUI MAL Y PE', the motto of the order of the garter. An incomplete silvered or tinned copper alloy military button dating to the post medieval period c AD 1798 - 1808. It is missing its attachement loop. To the reverse the button is concave. DEVIZES LOYAL VOLUNTEERS is in a raised scrolled outer border and in the centre is a shield within which is a castle, in relief - the coat of arms of Devizes. This was an English Vounteer Infantry unit. See SUR-386065 for a similar button (discovered near Urchfont). A copper-alloy cross belt plate has also been recorded onto the database from Pottern (WILT-19531D)

An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy flat disc brooch dating to AD 80 - 250. It is missing its pin and only part of the catch plate is present. The decoration on the face of the brooch is of six pellets arranged around a central pellet, each of the outer ones linked by a raised arcing line, creating a six cusped cell around the centre which could have contained enamel but there is no indication of this. A complete but worn cast copper alloy decorative belt mount of early post-medieval date.The mount is elongated pointed-oval in shape with rounded knops at either end, possibly in imitation of an acorn. The fitting has a slightly domed upper side and hollow underside; at either end of the mount on the underside are two integrally cast spikes that would have been inserted through the leather strap then folded over to secure the mount in place. A complete cast copper alloy strap fitting of early Post Medieval date. The strap fitting is an elongated heart shaped in plan with two integrally cast spikes on the reverse which are now bent over where they would have secured the fitting to a leather strap. The strap fitting has been decorated with a white-metal coating on the face while the underside is plain and undecorated. This strap fitting dates to the period c. AD 1450 to 1650. There are two casting spurs on each side. It is mssing its pin. A plate has been found with, but separated from, the buckle, which may be a repair. A post medieval cast copper alloy weight (a coin weight or apothecaries' weight) dating to c AD 1700 - 1900. Each face bears a stamped lion rampant near an edge and five stamped annulets, one in each corner and one in the centre. The edges of the weight are bevelled from both faces and show file marks in each case. It is 16.31mm x 14.71mm and 4.45mm thick.
