Lead probable weight. A cast object formed by inserting a finger end into damp coarse sand, which has left a clear cast of the tip and fingernail of the maker's index finger. The shrinkage of the object on its upper side as cast shows it was made, as is to be expected with such an improvised technique, in an open mould. Densely patinated. The mass may suggest this distinctive object to have represented one averdepois ounce, though its interest now resides more in the personalised record of its maker which it embodies. Copper alloy thimble. Conical pressed metal thimble with a broad plain basal zone. The upper half of the wall is occupied by machine stamped circular pits which appear as if rising up the wall in diagonal rows from right to left. The top bears similar pits in a probably concentric arrangement, and is iron stained; there appears to have been a separate thicker lay on the top, now chipped. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1850-1900.

A modern copper alloy strap slide. The slide comprises a copper alloy plate with a separate copper alloy bar on the reverse, joined together by two iron pins. The plate is in the form of a buckle with integral central bar. The frame is double oval and decorated with moulded floral or foliage elements. A rectangular bar with right angled terminals is set on the reverse.
This item is modern, but is recorded here because the reverse bars are often found on their own and are sometimes misidentified as being of earlier origin.

A late Saxon copper alloy Urnes-style mount. The mount is circular and openwork. The frame is just over 1mm thick, and contains within it a quadruped shown in profile going left, with its head looking back over its body and biting its tail. The body of the animal is slender and muscular, and the legs are relatively thick to the body. The neck is slender, as is the head. The tail is long and curves outwards and then back above to its mouth. The beast is joined to the frame at the top by four further tabs of copper alloy. The reverse is undecorated.
