Incomplete Medieval large copper alloy buckle. Trapezoidal frame has offcentre bar with constriction for missing pin. The wide end of the buckle having an engrailed outer edge - semicircular indentation along the edge. 73.61mm long 47.35mm wide narrowing to 36.69mm at central bar. The narrow end is recessed beyond the centre bar 32.18mm reducing to 30.99mm forming a rectangular interior 9.07mm by 22.35mm. Weighs 52.04g. A similar buckle is shown on page 101 No. 470 of "Dress Accessories" Egan & Pritchard (1991)
