Fragment of an Early Saxon copper alloy Florid Cruciform brooch, the central part of the head-plate, broken around edges and across a large, incomplete, central rectangular panel (extant length 20mm, width 21mm) with raised rim containing counter-relief Style I zoomorphic decoration. An incomplete copper-alloy annular brooch of medieval date, c.AD 1250 - 1450. The fragment is curved with an ovate section. It is decorated on the upper surface with thirteen (13) pellets flanked by crude irregular transverse incised lines. The reverse is undecorated. The metal has a dark brown patina and is worn. The fragment is 27.7mm long, 5.9mm wide, 2.2mm thick and weighs 1.7g. Similar brooches are illustrated in Egan & Pritchard (2002), p.249, fig.160.

Incomplete, bent and slightly molten Early Saxon copper alloy bow brooch (small-long or cruciform). The upper edge and sides of the headplate are missing. The short triangular-sectioned bow has facets at the top and base. Incomplete rectangular footplate. Ancient breaks. On the reverse there are the corroded remains of the iron pin around a single pin lug and molten remains of the catchplate. Extant length 39.5mm. Extant width 19mm. Weight 10.45g. c.480 - c.530 AD.
