One leg integral with part of the base of a medieval to post-medieval cast copper alloy cooking vessel, a thick, stubby and gently tapering example without a separately defined foot. The cross-section is sub-triangular with a median concavity on the inner face (or base of the triangle) and a median rib between slight grooves on the outer face (or apex). External and internal length 65 and 52mm. Width 55 - 49mm. Weight 347g. 14th - 17th century.

A crushed and fragmentary copper-alloy casserole or saucepan, dating from the late first or second century AD. The vessel is hemispherical in form and its outer body is decorated with two pairs of parallel circumferential grooves. It possesses a prominent foot ring which encloses a series of at least two faint raised concentric ribs. Only a small portion of rim remains. The pan would originally have had a handle although this is now missing along with the area from which it would have extended.
