A complete Medieval silver long-cross penny of Henry III (AD 1216-1272). North 988, Class III The obverse shows a crowned head facing, surrounded by small pellets, without a sceptre. The beard is formed of 3 pellets to each side of a central chin pellet. The inscription reads HENRICVSREXIII. The reverse shows a long-cross voided with 3 pellets in each angle. A complete knapped lithic implement of probable Mesolithic date, circa 9,000 - 4,000 BC. The implement is a piece of debitage, or waste material, produced during the knapping process. It is a tertiary flake which is sub-triangular in plan and section. The dorsal surface displays conchoidal fractures and a bulb of percussion. Two long flake removals are present on the ventral surfaced denoted by further conchiodal fractures. No other signs of working are evident. An incomplete copper-alloy cruciform brooch of Early-Medieval date, c.AD 450 - 600. All that remains of the brooch is a zoomorphic terminal, possibly in the form of a horse's head. The terminal comprises a D-sectioned bow with three transverse ribbed ridges at the upper end. Above the uppermost ridge is a worn break from the reverse of which the worn remains of a catchplate extends.
