The band is rectangular in plan and section with an integral, moulded, double lobed pattern forming a portion of the ring. The lobes create a 'heart' shape. The coin weight has a luaretae bust on one face and a crown imperial on the other. The crown has a small number 2 below it (weight denomination), followed by the word GVINEA and below that a letter W. See Withers 1995:16 for similar.

A complete post-medieval square copper alloy coin weight dating c. AD 1577-1603, produced in Antwerp probably by Hans Foncq. The obverse depicts a ship with the letter R next to the mast. This R indicates that the weight is to weigh a Rose noble or Ryal. The reverse depicts an upright right hand for Antwerp and flanked by the initials HF for Hans Foncq. There is a number 8 above the H which may indicate the date in the 1580s.

One face of the token has a cross and pellet design with one pellet in each quarter, the other side is blank. The metal is a light cream in colour Diameter: 19.48mm, Thickness: 2.23mm, Weight: 4.0g. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. Therefore those with simple designs are given a more general Medieval to Post Medieval date.
