An incomplete copper alloy pin of uncertain date. The pin has a broadly plain globular or spherical head with a small conical point at the top, while the shank is quite thick and irregular, being sub-rectangular in section. The shank may have been miscast as there is a hollow down its length, although an alternative interpretation is that this is a decortive furniture fitting and the moulding of the shank facilitated the insertion and securing of the pin in to a wooden object, for eample. An incomplete copper alloy pin of uncertain date. The pin has a plain globular or spherical head and circular sectioned shank which is broken and incomplete. There is no obvious collar between the head and the shank. It is hard to confidently date this object; It is of a simple, plain form and is most likely to date from the Roman to early-medieval period, c. AD 75-850.
