Copper alloy solid head integral loop cast button. The base of the head is circular rising to a domed top with a pronounced pimple at the apex. The flat reverse has a raised casting seam following the plane of the loop. Circa 16th- early 17th century.

An incomplete post-medieval copper alloy button dating from the 17th to 18th century. The button is biconvex in shape, hollow, and undecorated. The back has two blow holes and the remains of what would have been a simple looped shank. The remains take the form of two small projections which are made of iron. The button has a dark green to almost black patina. The button is 16.7mm in diameter, 9.7mm thick, and weighs 3.67g. An incomplete Medieval tin alloy button dating from the late 13th to mid14th century, although Read 2005 states that this style continued up until at least the early post-medieval period. The button is biconvex in shape with a polished undecorated tin surface creating the appearance silver. The button is missing its simple looped shank. The button is10mm in diameter, 7.8mm thick, and weighs 3.38g. Similar buttons can be found in Read 2005, pages 21-23, and more specifically number 71.
