An incomplete cast copper alloy post-Medieval spherical animal 'crotal' bell (AD 1600-1800). The bell as a sub-rectangular suspension loop at the top and an integral waist band running circumferentially around the centre of the bell. There is considerable damage to the lower half of the bell. There is no decoration on either hemisphere.

A Medieval to Post Medieval incomplete copper alloy sheet metal bell. (AD1250 to 1600). The bell is possibly from human dress, bird or animal harness. The bell is made in two halves from copper alloy sheet metal soldered together at the seam running round the circumference. The suspension loop is made out of sheet copper alloy and it has been inserted into the top of the bell and soldered in place. Both hemisphere are undecorated. An incomplete Medieval sheet metal copper alloy crotal bell dating to the period c. AD 1200 - 1400. The bell is spherical in shape. The integral suspension loop is sub-ovate in shape and is 8.7mm high, 14.3mm wide and 7.4mm thick. The suspension loop is formed from a piece of sheet metal soldered to the top of the bell. The body of the bell is made in two halves, formed by hammering the sheet into shaped moulds, and joined together. Half of the upper hemisphere is missing. It is smooth and undecorated.
