A flint core of uncertain age possibly Paleolithic in date. Description: The core is roughly oval in plan with and a roughly semi-circular cross-section. It has substantial shaping removals off one face and two large removals on the other. The largest of these, which was produced with a pressure hinge fracture removal may have produced a rounded scraping flake. The striking platform of this flake had substantial flaking preparation before its removal. The core is a mid-caramel brown colour. A flint hammerstone of uncertain prehistoric date. Description: Is roughly semi-circular in cross-section. The hammerstone has large amounts of crushing at the rounded end and accidental removals along two faces indicating its use a a hammerstone. The flatter sides may have been prepared for its uses as a hammerstone as the intentional flakes helping flatten these edges. The edges of the flat end have also had intentional crushing to blunt the edges to make it safer to use, this can be described as invasive scaled abrupt retouch. A fragment of wheel thrown ceramic vessel of Roman date c. AD 43 - 410, likely a small mica dusted greyware jar dating to the period c. AD 125 - 300. Description: The vessel survives only as a rim sherd and part of the neck of the jar. The sherd is very curved and the rim is angular and flat upright which would create a narrow mouth for this vessel. A cast post-medieval lead-alloy circular uniface token (c. 1500-1850). Description: The token is circular, one side of which has an uneven cross quadrant design (Powell type 12). Object is mostly a grey colour with patches of light off white-brown colour with occasional patches of light brown specs. Measurements: 19.88mm in diameter, 5.09mm thick and 13.21g in weight. Discussion: Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely.…

A stamped Post Medieval copper alloy finger ring, dating to the late 17th - 19th century. Description: The finger ring comprises a decorated band with a D-shaped cross-section. The decoration, all in counter-relief, comprises a repeated design of four eight petalled flowers or sunbursts between vertical bars, separated by other curls. An incomplete Medieval copper alloy swivel, probably dating to c. AD 1100-1500. The item comprises of a single sub-circular loop with a plano-convex cross section at the shoulders and sub-circular at the apex.
