An incomplete lead unidentified object of an uncertain period. It has a sub-oval shape in plan and it tapers towards the break. The wider end has a circular hole and the sides are more flattened. Lead weight. A sub-rhomboid scrap of thin cast sheet with cut edges, and with a pierced hole of diameter 2mm at its narrower end. Patinated. Possibly to weight a fishing line; the gently bent form here could, if it were original, impart a spinning motion permitting use as a lure. Suggested date: Medieval, 1200-1500. Lead weight. Cast weight approaching a rhomboid form, of plano-convex section, with a central moulded hole of diameter 4.6mm. The convex surface is rough or textured. Patinated. The mass does not closely correspond to units observing any particular system, while the form is also unusual. There are no marks to indicate the intended function of the hole, which is a little small to admit a spindle. Suggested date: unknown, Roman to Medieval, 43-1500. Length: 25.7mm, Width: 21.4mm, Height/Thickness: 13.3mm, Weight: 31.16gms

Incomplete lead medieval pilgrim's ampulla (c. 1200 - 1500 AD). The base of the ampulla is flat and rounded in plan, with a slightly flattened bottom. It is hollow; while the ampulla would originally have been used to hold holy water associated with the shrine of a saint, its cavity is now filled with organic detriment due to the context of its deposition. A section of the neck survives on one side, tapering towards the mouth and now slightly bent out of shape.
