An incomplete Roman tile, part of a roof tile or tegula. The tile is a dull orange clay fabric of a type typically used within the London area from the mid 1st century to the 2nd century AD. ( As described by the Museum of London when shown ). The tile is 151.1mm wide which represents its original size, 124.56mm long at max, original length unknown due to old breaks across the tile. There are two holes through the tile at a slight angle where nails would have been driven through the tile to secure it. Both inner and outer surfaces are rough.
