A complete cast lead-alloy personal seal matrix dating to the Medieval period, c. 1200-1300. It is circular in plan, with an un-drilled lug presumably designed to function as a handle projecting from its upper face. The underside of the matrix demonstrates the engraved design of a fleur de lis within a solid inner border, around which the inscription +S'. RAD[]S[]VM. Preserved in good condition with well cut design, it measures 25.02mm in diameter, 8.75mm thick where the lug projects from its upper face, and weighs 11.68g. An incomplete cast lead-alloy cloth seal dating to the Post-Medieval period, c. 1600-1700. Only one side of the object survives, demonstrating a folded over rectangular tab at its upper edge and the remnants of an integrally cast stud on its lower, which would have served to attach both sides of the object together. On its outer face, the latin numerals XVII/XVII in two lines are visible. A Post Medieval cast lead alloy watch face from a toy watch dating AD 1700-1750. This is a Forsyth & Egan (2005) Type 8 Design 1: a multi-component watch with a plain case, angular profile and integrally cast pendant loop. The surviving element here is the dial which would have been recessed and supported on an internal flange just below the rim of the case with the rim pushed over the edge of the dial (see LON-98FC10 for a more complete example). An incomplete lead alloy vesica shaped seal matrix dating to the Medieval period, circa AD 1150-1400. The seal when complete would have been broadly pointed oval (vesica) shaped in profile. The seal has been made in one piece with an integrally moulded suspension loop at the reverse. Lead alloy toy rocket fragment. Cast tail of a solid cast cylindrical or cigar-shaped object with four equidistantly spaced fins at its end. A groove or paired ridges extend longitudinally between fins on opposite sides of the object. This is probably the tail of a toy rocket or aeroplane with a detachable head: a paper percussion cap would fit between the head and the body of the rocket, and would explode when the head made impact. A finished edge along the upper side may suggest that this is one of two halves joined at a longitudinal seam. Neither such a construction nor the material used here would be suitable for a working miniature weapon taking a charge of black powder. 40 pieces of lead of various forms. Given the context they came from they are certainly Roman. They appear a mix with some which may allude to casting.
