Five body sherds from late Early Medieval hand built vessels. The sherds appear to be from large round bodied vessels but too little survives to establish the form and there are no rims or bases. They may be from the same pot or several, one appears thinner and three have been burnt post breaking. The sherds all have abundant poorly sorted quartz and limestone temper up to 3.5mm across with occasional pieces up to 5.mm across and occasional rounded ironstone or grog inclusions. A Medieval ceramic body sherd, probably dating to the fourteenth century. It is likely to derive from an open mouthed vessel ('cooking-pot'), although the sherds is too fragmentary for a judgment of form to be made. The fabric is coarse grained with an abundant poorly sorted sub-rounded quartz and other stone, including probably ironstone and mudstone or shale temper (gravel tempered) up to 2mm across. Two undiagnostic late Medieval ceramic body sherds, probably dating to c. AD 1250-1450. Both are likely derive from open mouthed vessels ('cooking-pots'), although the sherds are too fragmentary for a judgment of form to be made. The fabric is coarse grained with an abundant sand temper, sub-rounded quartz and occasional rounded patinated chert and iron stone. Both sherds have reduced cores but the remaining surfaces are oxidised a reddish brown. Weight 6.01g.

Three everted rim sherds of Roman, probably Savenake-type, greyware jars of AD 40 to 150. The sherds are a hard fired fabric, pale grey-buff with a a medium grey surface. The fabric has sparse very find sand temper and common angular quartz , mostly under 1mm although some up to 1.6mm, not visibly micaceous and with occasional fine limestone and orange grog inclusions. All three are everted rims with rounded outer edges and could be from the same or similar jars. They weigh 39 grams.

Two body sherds of Roman Savenake-type greyware of AD 40 to 150. The sherds are a hard fired fabric, pale grey-buff with sparse very find sand temper and occaisional angular quartz inclusions, mostly under 1mm although some up to 2.4mm, not visibly micaceous and with occasional fine limestone inclusions. Both appear burnt, the larger post-breakage. The larger piece has a neatly burnished outer face and a distinct change in profile where the convex lower body meets the concave curved neck similar to Type 9 (as given in Tyers 1996). They weigh 33 grams.

Two adjoining body sherds of Roman greyware from an open vessel. The sherds are a medium fired silty fabric, pale grey with abundent very find sand temper and occaisonal angular quartz inclusions, mostly under 1mm although some up to 2.4mm, not visibly micaceous. The vessel form is unclear although there is a distinct step in the profile visible on the inner and outer face with a rouletted band of alternating large and small rectangles defined by indented lines just above the step. 22.20 grams.
