A two part lead cloth seal. Two circular discs joined by a central integral rivet and a narrow strip at one edge. On face is undecorated and the other bears a raised design of an open crown over a rose.
Date: Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval - c. 1400 - 1550

A complete Post Medieval lead cloth seal.
The seal has been made from one piece of lead with two circular plates (Similar to the number "8") which has been folded in half.
On one side in three lines above one another, are the letters CA [...] 1664. Below this is a circle with a five pointed star on each side. On the other side is a quarterly shield, with a Bend and a smaller shield in center
Similar to: PUBLIC-3F79A1 (CLOTH SEAL), that believes the word CARSAY originates from a Suffolk village KERSEY, famous for woolen cloth making
