A two part lead cloth seal. Two circular discs joined by a central integral rivet and a narrow strip at one edge. On face is undecorated and the other bears a raised design of an open crown over a rose.

A complete Post Medieval lead cloth seal.
The seal has been made from one piece of lead with two circular plates (Similar to the number "8") which has been folded in half.
On one side in three lines above one another, are the letters CA [...] 1664. Below this is a circle with a five pointed star on each side. On the other side is a quarterly shield, with a Bend and a smaller shield in center
Similar to: PUBLIC-3F79A1 (CLOTH SEAL), that believes the word CARSAY originates from a Suffolk village KERSEY, famous for woolen cloth making

A complete but worn and abraded flat lead non-heraldic personal seal matrix of Medieval date c.AD 1200-1350.
Description: The matrix is flat and circular in plan and with an incomplete suspension loop at the top of the reverse side formed by a cast lug at the top of a raised ridge. The suspension loop is broken across its width. On the front is an engraved central eight petalled flower. This is surrounded by a legend which starts at twelve o'clock and runs retrograde (anti-clockwise) around the matrix so it would appear the right way round when used. It reads "*S'RICARDI.FIL.h'ER…
