Grey-buff flint, honey-coloured under transmitted light, borer. A sub-triangular flake with broad flakes struck from its dorsal side and with a bulb at one corner of an otherwise flat ventral surface. Very short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect follows a curving convex edge; the opposite edge appears to have received similar short abrupt retouch executed from the ventral aspect, defining a point where the two edges meet. White pipeclay doll fragment. Moulded arm from a china doll of composite construction, with a mould line along either side. A chubby childlike forearm is modelled at a scale of c.1:5 with an open hand with short fingers at one end, and an aperture of diameter 7.3mm at the other, just short of the position of the elbow. The body and dress of the doll would have been of fabric to which separate limbs and head were attached. Stone possible whetstone. A small dense compact dark grey pebble of triangular section with rounded ends and sharply defined arises between its flat faces, probably initially formed by wind erosion in a dusty or icy environment. One side, however, is lightly hollowed, probably by wear arising from use as a sharpening stone, and handling may have contributed to the smooth finish of other surfaces.
