It is an open-back coatee button with a convex face and a crowned 60 within strap reading HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE clockwise from 6 o'clock to 6 o'clock. There is no back mark and the iron shank is now missing. This regiment became the Royal American LI 1815-1824, before becoming Duke of York's Own Rifle Corps and then the KRRC 1830-81. The obverse depicts the Arms of Friesland: a crowned shield with two lions passant. The reverse depicts fleural decoration with a lion rampant at 12 o'clock and reads FRISIA 1686 on two lines. Medieval single loop buckle dating to the period c. AD 1350 -1400. Rectangular frame with a narrowed and recessed strap bar and an expanded outside edge. The outer edge exhibits a central grooved pin slot flanked by a narrow groove on either side and a narrow groove at each end on the front. On the reverse, the two flanking grooves angle towards one another. Traces of iron corrosion from the missing pin are visible on the strap bar. See: Egan & Pritchard, 202, p. 96, nos. 437 - 439.

Padlock comprised of a plano-convex sectioned barrel, broken at one end, the other with a rectangular-sectioned piece of metal projecting from it. The heavily corroded remains of the mechanism are visible inside. The lock is surrounded by a chain, comprised of a mix of simple and figure-of-eight shaped links. At least 8 loops are visible. A copper-alloy Roman brooch fragment of the Aucissa or Hod Hill Type, dating to c. AD 43-100. The headplate is flat and sub-rectangular in plan; it comprises small fragments of the forwards folded terminals parts, the iron axis-bar and part of the hinged pin. The bow has a sub-rectangular cross-section and in its front has two prominent transverse ridges where it joins the headplate. The fragment is haevily corroded. An incomplete copper alloy probable strap end of medieval to post-medieval date. What remains is a tongue shaped outer end of a strap end, flat on the underside but slightly convex on the upper surface. It tapers to a semi spherical knop behind which is a collar and three lobes which become successively larger, The item has an early break above the third of these. Lead alloy brooch. Cast oval frame of thickness 1.2mm with a series of juxtaposed lugs set in pairs and projecting from a plain border. The lugs bear pelleted detail, and at least some represent flowers. On the back, each pair - there were possibly five in a cinquefoil arrangement - has a low central rib to reinforce it, and a pair of strips of ribbons of width 2.4mm and 2.7mm may have related to fastening of the object.
