Cast copper-alloy single looped buckle with integral spacer plate. Medieval in date, c. 1350 - 1450. The frame is oval in shape and curves to a point where the pin rests. The pin is 'D' shaped in section an tapers to a point. The attachment end is looped around the pin bar, which is integrally connected to the remains of the forked spacer. There is a raised moulded ridge running along the base of the forked spacers, indicative of the location of the pin bar. The patina is a very dark green colour. A copper-alloy Roman brooch fragment of the Aucissa or Hod Hill Type, dating to c. AD 43-100. The headplate is flat and sub-rectangular in plan; it comprises small fragments of the forwards folded terminals parts, the iron axis-bar and part of the hinged pin. The bow has a sub-rectangular cross-section and in its front has two prominent transverse ridges where it joins the headplate. The fragment is haevily corroded.
