Medieval jetton of French origin, Tournais type. An incomplete copper alloy Jetton of Charles V (AD 1364 - AD 1380) or Charles VI (AD 1380 - AD 1422). Probably struck as one of the last Shield of France Ancient Jettons during the period AD 1380 - AD 1390. Obverse depicts flat topped Shield of France Ancient with three lis and the lower half of a fourth in the centre at the top, surmounted by a cournelle (crown). Dual pellet stops in legend. Cast copper alloy medallion or gaming counter with raised moulded relief decoration. The item is circular in shape with a flat underside and raised decoration on the face. The decoration takes the form of a four-legged animal, probably a dog or wolf, facing right and looking backward with its tail in its open mouth. The animal is encircled with a roped border. The item is enigmatic, because the underside shows little evidence of mounting. Cast copper-alloy single looped buckle with integral spacer plate. Medieval in date, c. 1350 - 1450. The frame is oval in shape and curves to a point where the pin rests. The pin is 'D' shaped in section an tapers to a point. The attachment end is looped around the pin bar, which is integrally connected to the remains of the forked spacer. There is a raised moulded ridge running along the base of the forked spacers, indicative of the location of the pin bar. The patina is a very dark green colour. There appears to be the remains of two rivet holes at the terminal of the strap end, whilst the opposite end tapers to a point. Lithic point dating from the Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age. Its possible age covers a potentially vast span of time, from c. 100,000 years ago to c. 800 BC. The point is made on a triangular shaped flake, with evidence of invasive knapping on both faces and along the edges. There is a prominent bulb of percussion on the ventral face, which is suggestive of hard hammer knapping technique. Medieval copper-alloy strap end dating to c. 1350 - 1450. The strap end is comprised of two plates (front and back) and a forked spacer. Both plates are shield shapes with straight side edges, a scalloped upper edge and a pointed lower edge. There are two rivets, one each close to the top and bottom edges still remain. Copper-alloy purse bar fragment, dating from c. 1450 - 1500. The fragment is a curved bar with is concave on one side, and which tapers to a bent point at one end, and a break at the other. There is some incised decoration on the frame in the form of linear cross-hatching. One of the edges shows two small holes close together, the side of one is now open to the edge.
