An iron locking mechanism and chain dating to the Roman period. Padlock comprised of a plano-convex sectioned barrel, broken at one end, the other with a rectangular-sectioned piece of metal projecting from it. The heavily corroded remains of the mechanism are visible inside. The lock is surrounded by a chain, comprised of a mix of simple and figure-of-eight shaped links. At least 8 loops are visible. L (lock barrel) (62) mm ; W (lock barrel) 35 mm ; D (lock barrel) 36 mm ; L (rings) 89 mm ; W (rings) ; 34 mm ; T (rings) 11 mm. Iron padlock and chain.

A complete (although several of the fragments are glued) iron cleaver or knife with wooden handle of Manning (1985) Type 2a dating to the Roman period. It possesses a rectangular-sectioned tang, straight along the back edge of the triangular-sectioned blade. The cutting edge steps out from the tang and curves continuously towards the tip. There is an iron ferrule at the tang, which retains fragments of the wooden handle. A copper-alloy medieval swivel strap fitting or junction dating to the period c.AD 1200-1500. The strap fitting is formed of two components: a loop and a hook. The loop is oval in plan and hemispherical in section. The loop flattens out at its base and possesses a longitudinal aperture with collared moulding. A hook is threaded through this aperture. The angles of the terminal possess spherical cast knops. The terminal extends to a hemispherical section body which is broken. It measures 26mm in length, 19 mm wide and 3mm thick. It weighs 4.24 g. A copper-alloy stylus dating to the Roman or Early Medieval period. The stylus possesses a hemispherical-section stem which is decorated with horizontal four panels of horizontal notches. At one end, the stem tapers to a point. At the other end, the stem flattens to become an eraser which is trapezoidal in plan and wedge-shaped in section. The outer edge is slightly curved. The stylus measures 55mm in length, 5mm in width and 2mm in thickness.

A copper-alloy probable strainer of medieval to early post-medieval date. It is formed of a flat (but now distorted) disc of sheet copper-alloy which has been perforated by hand through the upper surface using broadly circular punches of varying sizes for the holes. The perforations are arranged in approximate concentric circles. There are similar examples illustrated in Egan,1998, pp. 157-158, nos. 437-440.

A Continental imiatation of a silver sterling of Henry III (Class 5) minted by Nicole of London. It was produced in the Low Countries most likely in Brabant during the AD 1250s-60s. The obverse legend reads hENR[IC]VS REX [III?] with the letter N reverse barred and ligate with the letter R, letter C is not visible but may be reversed. The eyes appear to be oval.
