A lead alloy token of later medieval to post-medieval date, circa (AD1400-1800). The token is circular in plan. The obverse depicts a six petalled flower, Powell Type 1 (Symbolic Petalled Flower) The reverse face is flat and un-decorated. The token has a cream to grey coloured patina across all surfaces which also has areas of abrasion. Lead tokens had a wide variety of potential uses such as use as tallies, gaming pieces, tickets, weights, etc. and are believed to have been locally produced; they are therefore difficult to date precisely. A body sherd of a wheel-thrown ceramic Black Burnished Ware (Type BB2) jar of Roman date, circa AD 120 - 250. The fabric is dark blackish-grey in colour with a hard and gritty texture and black burnished outer surface. There is an incised groove running across the fragment above a wavy combed design of thin parallel lines. Numerous inclusions of mica are present giving a speckled appearance within the fabric. A Post Medieval cast copper alloy hooked tag or dress fastener. The object consists of a flat piece of copper alloy,with a curved rectangular bar placed vertically from the lower edge. The actually hook at the base of the bar is missing. An inverted-trapezoidal frame is placed at the upper edge of the dress fastener. Below this the body of the fastener is broadly circular in plan. Roman copper alloy bow brooch fragment of indeterminate type, probably of T-shaped or allied types and of 1st or 2nd century AD date The brooch is represented by the fragmentary head only (with a surviving length of 16.5mm, a surviving depth of 6.7mm and a weight of 4.3g). The fabric is dark blackish-brown in colour with a hard and gritty texture and black burnished outer surface. Numerous inclusions of mica are present giving a speckled appearance within the fabric. There is part of a design remaining on the fragment showing four semi circular lines. The fragment is 59.22mm long, 55.54mm wide, Rim 6.3mm thick, body 4.09mm thick, and weighs 19.7g. Overall diameter: 20cm (projected using rim chart); approx.7% of rim remaining.
