An incomplete copper alloy gilded disc plate brooch dating to AD 200-350. The brooch is circular and plain edged. The front of the plate is decorated with concentric grooves and ridges; there is a raised concentric rim around a shallow recess in which a glass gem would have been set. At the rear of the brooch is the remnant of the catchplate and opposite it a lug through which the remains of the sprung pin mechanism is attached. The shaft of the pin is missing. An incomplete copper alloy Colchester Derivative, Polden Hill type (variant 2) brooch dating to AD 75-175. The brooch would have been sprung but the spring and the pin are absent. The wings are semi-cylindrical and are decorated at the ends with four incised grooves. There are rearward facing hooks on either end of the wings which would have held the spring.
