Object type: UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT
Broad period: MEDIEVAL
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Fragment of an unidentified copper alloy openwork object. Broken on all edges but apparently not distorted, it curves gently in two planes. Around and between the two complete and five incomplete apertures there are lines of pecking. One very tenuous identification is as part of a lid of a censer, cf. HESH-8FC8F6. Extant dimensions 27.8 x 18.8 x 1.5mm. The diameter of the curvature is not accurately measurable. In one plane it appears to be less than c.110mm. Perhaps 11th - 12th century. Finder's no. ad360
