A copper alloy vessel fragment, likely dating between c.1550AD-1700AD. Description: The fragment is part of the rim of a cauldron or similar vessel with the rim formed by a thickened section at the top of a thin wall. There are two holes in the outer surface which have been filled with a different a quality copper-alloy. These holes maybe damage or possibly rivet holes for now lost handles. The entire fragment is heavily patinated. Measurements: 52.56mm wide, 24.06mm high, 4.8mm thick (at the rim, 2.12mm without rim and 20.58g in weight

A cast copper alloy vessel leg or foot from a tripod cauldron, skillet or similar cooking vessel. c. AD 1550-1700. Description: The leg has five raised ridges on the upper surface. The leg narrows from the paw to just before a transverse raised rib/collar. After the collar there is rough rugged break. The foot is formed by the ribs widening out and its' detail are defined by the ridges and represents an animals paw. The rear surface is concave. A pair of curved straight-sided sheet metal strips of thickness 0.7mm, with one secured to the other by a pair of roves or rivets of diameter c.7mm which are flattened to a width of c.12.5mm behind. What is taken as the display face bears black paint or oil or possibly soot. A Post Medieval copper alloy zoomorphic handle of uncertain date and from an unidentified vessel. The handle is in the form of a birds leg ending in a three toes foot, measuring 21.6mm in length, with the middle toe larger and curved backwards in a claw ending in a point. Behind this is a V-shaped raised section measuring 19.1mm in width identified as the other toes. An incomplete copper-alloy zoomorphic spout of Medieval date, c. AD 1400 - 1500. The spout is from a copper alloy vessel, either a ewer or a laver. The spout has a zoomorphic terminal in the form of a dog's head with gaping jaws that clasp a circular tube (11.31mm in diameter) that protrudes from its mouth by 6.64mm. The head itself consists of a raised brow section which is square in plan which then curves downwards to form the dog's muzzle which takes the form of a small triangular knop with a curved apex. The piece thickens towards what would have been the base, triangular in cross section across its length, and triangular across its width.
