Medieval lead seal matrix, flat. Circular, diameter 27mm, thickness 3mm. Elaborate quatrefoil. + SIG' · hENR' · PISTOR' (Seal of Henry the baker). The word pistor used here is Latin, and Pistor is rare as an English surname. Pester, an alternative spelling, is not common (Reaney and Wilson 1991, 347). 13th century.

An incomplete lead seal matrix dating to thirteenth or fourteenth century AD. It is vesica shaped in plan and flat. The reverse is plain and the suspension loop is missing. In the centre of the die there is a foliate motif (a tree or branch?) surrounded by an incised pointed oval. The circumference is incised with a legend which reads [S]' WILL. FIL' RO[B]... (Seal of William son of Robert). The seal matrix measures 27mm in length and a maximum of 20mm in width. It measures 3mm in thickness.
