The item is circular in shape and features a smaller circular bezel in the centre, supported by three arms each with collared terminals, connecting the central circle to the outer circle. The central boss likely contained a decorative setting which has since been lost. Cast copper-alloy toggle of late Iron Age to Roman date c. 300 BC - 100 AD. The item is cylindrical with a bulbous central portion and two flat circular terminals. There is an intact attachment loop rising from the central portion of the body, though the void underneath is now filled with hardened soil containing oxidised iron remains. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Iron Age Flat Linear potin of the Cantiaci, c.115-100 BC, of Holman type B4/2-1 (D. Holman, pers. comm.). The obverse depicts a stylised head of Apollo left. The reverse has a bull butting right with exergual line below. The remains of a casting sprue are visible at top and bottom of the flan, of which approximately one third is missing. As Holman, 2016 ('A new classification system for the Flat Linear potin coinage', BNJ 86, 2016: pp. 1-67): pp. 25-26, 45, 57, Type B4/2-1, possibly dating to c.115-100 BC (Holman, 2016: p. 11).
