Object type: VESSEL
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Oxfordshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
A Post Medieval copper alloy (possible) lid for a vessel. It is guilded and has a running annulet design around the rim with the boss having a floral design. The nipple is plain. The underside is hollow and appears to have a second plate attached to it (with a probable rivet or attachment point). There is in fact a linear decoration on the tip under the boss, which suggests the item may be a lid for a container. Actual date uncertain but certainly Post Medieval.
