An incomplete copper alloy Colchester derivative, hinged brooch of Roman date (AD 55-100). The head of the brooch is comprised of wide tubular wings with a central rectangular groove, and axis bar around which the pin would have been hinged. The wings have bulbous terminals and are decorated with semi-circular collars. The top of the bow is decorated with a worn triangular projecting boss. The back of the wings and head retain the remains of an integral lug and upper projecting forward curved hook which would have held the pin mechanism. A fragment of a late medieval to early post-medieval (formerly) circular copper alloy button-form badge with an engraved depiction of Saint Hubert and the stag on the front. Just over one quarter of the button survives, showing the top-left part of the engraved design. Medieval gilt copper alloy trefoil-shaped buckle plate, folded widthways and narrowed and shortened on reverse, with recessed sides, pin slot and four rivet holes, one in the centre of each foil, the larger with a dome-headed copper alloy rivet and a smaller, possibly secondary, rivet offset to one side. A sub-triangular panel with incised foliate decoration separates the foils. Both loops have three engraved longitudinal linesand a transverse bordering line at the junction with the plate.
