An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap end of medieval date (c. 14th century). The strap end is a composite piece with central spacer that is sandwiched between two thin copper alloy plates. The top plate is engraved with the design of a long-necked bird (probably a swan) with its neck curled over its body, facing left, with a leafy branch in its beak. The object is formed from a sheet of copper alloy bent round upon itself and secured with four rivets: two at the joining ends and two at the folded end. There are four flat semi-circular projecting knops on the outside edge. On the reverse is a rectangular loop. The back of the plate is steeply concave and undecorated. An incomplete cast copper-alloy strap-mounted harness fitting (terret ring) dating to the early Roman period. Lewis' type 19 'dropped-bar' form. The terret ring is composed of a simple plain oval loop with a thicker sectioned top than base and which has obvious signs of wear to one side. An incomplete post medieval silver buckle dating from c.1720 to 1790. The buckle is rectangular with rounded corners, the buckle doesn't sit flat but arches slightly. Two moulded curvilinear lines run around the edge of the frame, curving in at the centre where the spindle attached on both sides. On both sides of the outer frame are two semicircular projections, sitting lower than the frame.
